Regional EHE Community Engagement Town Hall Virtual Session (Midwest)
Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America (EHE) is a plan that aims to end the HIV epidemic in the United States by 2030. More than 1.1 million Americans are currently living with HIV and many more are at risk of HIV infection. The initiative seeks to reduce the number of new HIV infections in the United States by 75 percent within five years, and then by at least 90 percent within 10 years. The initiative focuses on four key strategies that, implemented together, can end the HIV epidemic in the U.S.: Diagnose, Treat, Prevent, and Respond. This is a bold plan that requires broad engagement and participation and a robust community engagement process.

Planning and implementation efforts are underway for the Phase I EHE jurisdictions. Jurisdictions are developing comprehensive EHE plans that are tailored by, and for, each community. Jurisdictions should engage their local communities, HIV planning bodies, HIV prevention and care providers, and other partners in an accelerated and collaborative process to develop plans that address the four national Ending the HIV Epidemic strategies. Community engagement is paramount to the success of these plans and future implementation activities.

Given the importance of a robust community engagement process, CDC, in conjunction with our funded Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) Providers, will convene a series of Regional Community Engagement Town Hall Virtual Sessions. The purpose of the virtual town hall is to educate, encourage, and empower the local community on the engagement and planning process. The intended audience includes the phase I stakeholders, local community members, non-traditional partners (new voices), HIV planning group members, community-based organizations, and health department colleagues. CDC is committed to providing technical assistance and we look forward to your participation.

Please ensure that you only register for ONE townhall meeting. The meeting must align with your respective region.
